This event was initially conceived as a way to engage a younger generation of Deborah’s Place supporters—those who care about the mission, but aren’t going to buy a $200 ticket to a gala. Earned media and strategic outreach got the attention of Mayor Brandon Johnson, who attended and spoke at the event and signed an official declaration in honor of Deborah’s Place.

By bringing together Deborah’s Place residents, Board Members, volunteers, donors, and staff, we strengthened our community bond and made a splash in the neighborhood.
